It’s Ravelympics Day # … uh, I’ve lost track of what day it is. But the Icarus shawl is finished!

The other exciting thing that happened today is that it snowed — real, genuine snowflakes, with accumulation and everything — for the first time since Valentine’s Day six years ago.

I’ve heard the slogan “knit fearlessly” before, though for the life of me I can’t remember if it’s associated with one particular BNK. Today was my day to photograph fearlessly. Yes, that means what you’re thinking it means.

A break from knitting

At lunch with friends. If it were possible to live on Chuy’s creamy jalapeƱo dip, I would.

Here’s my friend miceblank’s crocheted sock. Aren’t the little granny squares on the cuff adorable? She’s on sock 1 of 2, so we’re both going to have a busy eight days. Better fuel up on lots of chips and dips while we can.

If you’re in the Austin area and want to join us, details will be on our Meetup group calendar by next week sometime. Spam alert: if I figure out how to post pictures from my WordPress phone app, I might live blog the event.

In yesterday’s early stages of planning (even for a potluck, I’m incapable of not making at least three dishes of my own, to be sure everyone will have something they can eat), I realized the Superbowl is Feb 7th, the Olympics start on the 12th, and Mardi Gras is the 16th. Valentine’s Day is hereby canceled, because I won’t have time for it!

And of course, the every day knitting goes on.
